Independent Capacity Market · Starting with BESS in the Netherlands
The Independent Capacity Market (ICM) is a collective of BESS developers, flex traders, grid operators and industry experts who are missing a commercial layer. While the physical build-out of batteries is moving fast, capacity sits underutilised, pricing lacks transparency, and bilateral structures remain opaque. We believe in a new standard for market access in Europe — one that delivers fair returns to asset owners, standardised access to capacity for traders, and reliable flexibility for grid operators.
The ICM auctions the dispatch rights of flex assets and executes dispatch instructions, starting with BESS in the Netherlands. Sellers list available capacity of qualified assets; the winning bidder gains real-time dispatch control for the contracted period. The ICM is an independent facilitator with no commercial interest in auction outcomes, has an API-first set-up to minimise asset integration costs and improves continuously thanks to its AI-native architecture. The first auctions serve as blue print for what's to come across flex assets and Europe.
The ICM is currently in a closed-access phase. Leave your details to register your interest and receive an invitation to our upcoming auctions.
Thank you. We will be in touch when the auction house is ready for you.
